Family’s don’t like it when people expose their bad habits and air their “dirty laundry.” But that’s exactly what one TikTok user did when she shared her family’s disturbing and “unsanitary” dinner, which she called an utter “waste of food.” While the viral TikTok video sparked a conversation about whether or not it was “genius” or “unsanitary,” the user of the Chinese social media app, Stephanie, which she referred to as her family’s go-to dinner item, the massive “nacho table.”
She captioned her TikTok video, “We always make a nacho table during a family vacation.” And if you can imagine what a nacho table looks like, then that’s exactly what it is. Imagine a platter of nachos the size of the dining room table. This family knows exactly how to transform a regular table into a delicious smorgasbord of nachos.
If you enjoy nachos, then you’ll probably adore the “nacho table.” Although it is very unsanitary, especially during the coronavirus pandemic, it is a delight to dive into if you’re a fan of those flavors.
Stephanie and her family have been building the nacho table for their summer vacations for years. They have the process down pat, which is why Stephanie was confident in sharing the video to TikTok for others to enjoy.
First, Stephanie and her family spread out a large sheet of aluminum foil onto the table so they can lay out all the delightful ingredients for the nachos. When the sheet is down, the family spread chips all over it. It’s a fun thing to do together and a great way to enjoy a meal with their hands.
When the chips are spread out, Stephanie globs on the ground beef, cheese, and other nacho toppings, at this point, the chairs are all removed, and the family loiters around the table eating from it with their bare hands.
Many users on TikTok saw the fun in Stephanie’s family’s nacho table. Others, however, were not sold on the concept. They worried that it was just a big “waste of food” since the whole nacho table would not be consumed in one bout.
“Sorry, but no,” one user wrote.
“The amount of unsanitary child hands would cause me to leave the entire house,” another added.
“The people leaning over the food while they eat and using the other food as a plate would make me too paranoid about eating it,” another TikTok fan added.
Although there were plenty of critics for Stephanie’s nacho table, there were also a lot of fans eager to try it themselves.
“I’m so mad that my family doesn’t do this,” one wrote.
“This is the best thing I’ve ever seen,” another added.
If you’re a fan of Mexican-inspired flavors, then the nacho table is something that you will love to try. It’s a great way to stuff your face with nachos while enjoying a fun activity with the rest of the family. It’s kind of like a group craft project as well as a meal that provides sustenance and nutrition when the right ingredient is included.
